CLL - Joint pain, loss of range of motion
Hi I’m 54, 3 years with CLL, 2 years on
Acalabrutinib
, suffering badly from fatigue and aching limbs. Recently developed pain in my right shoulder, and some loss of mobility. Had similar pains in my left shoulder but to a much lesser extent.

Largest real world study of acalabrutinib and ibrutinib over 3 years, shows acalabrutinib has improved discontinuation rates
I also mentioned the lower discontinuation rate for
acalabrutinib
found in the head to head
acalabrutinib
vs ibrutinib clinical trial. Much of that is due to not to disease progression, but because those on ibrutinib found the side effects intolerable.

Weight gain
For those of you using
Acalabrutinib
, have you noticed weight gain, as the drug starts working.? So I am back to basics, watching all I eat and I will mention the weight gain to my consultant in October.

Should I be worried?
Due to language problems, I was unable to understand the exact name of the drug, but it may have been '
Acalabrutinib
' which she said is one of the treatments that is permanent. My recent bloods of 4th December show: Haemoglobin, 107. overall WBC, 110. Platelets, 162.

How Long for BTK Inhibitor to Reduce WBC.
Ibrutinib,
acalabrutinib
, zanabrutinib) for their WBC to be down to normal range again? I'm very watchful for signs of encephalitis, but I'll feel more comfortable once my WBC is within the normal range again.

Is my sore lower back pain a side effect of Acalabrutinib ?
I was diagnosed with CLL 3 months ago and have been on
Acalabrutinib
since then with excellent results that put me close or into the normal range - white blood cells down to 12 from 56, red blood cells up to 125 from 111.

Reduced acalabrutinib
I started August 1st 2022 my treatment with two tablets a day . Within a month it was reduced to one a day as my liver could not handle it. 11 months later, the one tablet a day is perfect. It will all work out for you.

Should you avoid caffeine while on Acalabrutinib?
My mom just started her treatment with
acalabrutinib
. She is a regular 1-2 cups of coffee a day drinker. The pharmacist told my mom to not drink coffee for the same reason she shouldn't drink grapefruit or orange juice while on the meds.

Has anyone started V-0 treatment recently with positive results?
I am due to start OBIMUTUZUMAB & VENETOCLAX it next week after
Acalabrutinib
caused afib and I am on it 1/2 dose with 1 beta blocker and blood thinner that cause stress and fatigue. I would like to be reassured as at the moment I am a nervous wreck. Thank you.

Update.
She asked if I had ever taken
acalabrutinib
to which I said no and I think i have heard that it can be taken in tandem with ibrutinib. Also said that I have heard about ventoclac which she said had been mentioned in their discussions.

POST 6 CAR-T cell therapy
My expectation attending Clinic in August was to receive the results of my bone marrow biopsy and to check that I was still tolerating
Acalabrutinib
, perhaps with a view to another BM in a few months time.

CLL survival times ARE improving, thanks to BTK and BCL-2 inhibitors
The even better news is that we now have second and third generation FDA approved BTKis, which have significantly lower adverse event and toxicity profiles -
acalabrutinib
, pirtobrutinib and zanubrutinib, with more BTKis and BCL-2is to come.

Severe bruising
I am a bit concerned about clots as I am off both the
Acalabrutinib
and aspirin but we have to stop the bruising from spreading. Has anyone else on
Acalabrutinib
or brutinib suffered a similar experience and recovery? I welcome any advice. Thanks. Best regards Ross

Acalabrutinib treatment going well
I have been on one dose daily of
Acalabrutinib
for 4 weeks now and am doing quite well. The fatigue has improved quite a lot, although I won't be running any marathons, and I don't feel sick every day. So a good response in my opinion.

Acalabrutinib/COVID/swollen lymph nodes under arm
Hi, I’ve been on
Acalabrutinib
for almost a year now. I have SLL. Everything had been going wonderfully, my lymph nodes significantly decreased in size, my 3-months follow up scan showed great results, my blood work looked normal, and the side effects were minimal.
