PSA Nadir 6 Months After Primary RT Correlates With Prostate Cancer Outcomes — Or does it?, MedPage Today May 22, 2024
In contrast, the landmark STAMPEDE trial of
abiraterone
(Zytiga) plus ADT for high-risk prostate cancer had a 6-year PCSM of 15%. "These clearly are very different patient populations," Spratt continued.

Androstenedione & Frailty
As such, production is inhibited by
Abiraterone
(which targets the enzyme that acts on progesterone and pregnenolone.) Adrenal andro production is controlled by ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone). Gonadal andro production is inhibited by ADT.

Options when Docetaxel stops working
He went on Lupron and
Abiraterone
which took his PSA to .03 and kept it low until Oct 2022. It went to 8.9 and his doctor put him on Docetaxel chemo. His PSA has continued to rise and his oncologist has kept him on this chemo. His PSA is now 48.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve
si=JPeepmKsrlzyNL0E Silly Kaiser thinks that
Abiraterone
is chemo and won't mail it, so gotta go down to Bakersfield monthly to get it, but this time I brought Chocolate covered Macadamia Nuts for the AIS Cancer Center Onco and Radiation staff.

I’ve been on degarelix/Firmagon and
Abiraterone
for the past 3.5 months and it seems to be working well - just had my 3 month scans. And the terrible fatigue is under control. Anyone else on these two drugs? What’s your long term experience been? thanks Robert

A prior phase III study of
abiraterone
plus apalutamide versus
abiraterone

MO says plan is to stabilize then add
Abiraterone
/Prednisone, worried a bit about blood pressure. Is BAT a viable way to push out the castration resistance window? Is Orovyx useful as an alternative to Lupron, worried about my heart?

Clinical Trial Considerations??
The ADT adds niraparib to the traditional
abiraterone
, prednisone, and leuprolide mix. Niraparib (a PARP inhibitor) was recently FDA approved for prostate cancer treatment, primarily for men with castration-resistant cancer. It’s been used with cervical and ovarian cancer.

ONCT-534 Earns FDA Fast Track Designation in R/R Metastatic CRPC
“The receipt of fast track designation for ONCT-534 supports our belief that patients with [metastatic] CRPC who relapse after treatment with androgen receptor pathway inhibitors [ARPIs] such as enzalutamide [Xtandi] or
abiraterone
[Zytiga], represent an important unmet medical need,” James Breitmeyer

Bleeding after salvage radiation
Currently about one year into Lupron +
Abiraterone
+ prednisone. Recently experienced very mild rectal and/or blood in stool. Is this likely due to the radiation, or something else?

Blood in urine and clotting 3 weeks after starting Zytiga
I believe the
Abiraterone
is working as I feel less pain so I would like to stay on it. My oncologist wanted to do PSA after 6 weeks. I haven’t yet contacted her regarding the bleeding. Is there any treatment to stop bleeding? Is more water helpful? Thanks

More Evidence Linking ADT for PCa to Adverse Neurocognitive Effects -Meta-analysis shows increased risk of dementia, Parkinson's, depression
The risk was even higher in men treated with newer androgen receptor signaling inhibitors (ARSIs), but the association was not consistent across the ARSI class: increased risk with enzalutamide (Xtandi) and apalutamide (Erleada) but decreased risk with
abiraterone
(Zytiga).

TA Stampede Trial Q
Hey Tall guy When "3 years of ADT and 2 years of
abiraterone
is standard-of-care" How is that timed? Start ADT and Abi together, and stop Abi at 2 years leaving ADT by itself for the last year? How would that work in my case? I started ADT and Abi at the same time, then RT after 6 months.
