Positive reaction
He asked what drugs I am on so I said Methotrexate since diagnosis plus hydroxychloroquine and now a biologic as well (
Abatacept
). He said how well they have worked as without them my hands would have been completely deformed by now.

Frustrated
been so painful and very swollen they decided to draw fluid from it and inject steroid to relieve the swelling but were unable to get any fluid out as they said my muscles had tightened around the joint too much, so was sent home with 3 leaflets to decide what I would like to try next, Adalimumab,

Abatacept and indigestion
I started taking
Abatacept
about 8 weeks ago. No effect for 6 weeks then all of a sudden no rheumy pain - fantastic. However around that time I started to have indigestion symptoms which have been getting worse. Being a terrible hypochondriac I am worried I have stomach cancer!

Hair loss
Hydroxy.....I’ve been on this now to supplement pred and
Abatacept
for about 7 weeks. A way to go to see if it helps but my hair is falling out. Every time I shower it flipping blocks the plug and my scalp shows through so badly now.

Biologics and infections
Today was my first
Abatacept
injection. All ok so far and I’m trying not to read too much stuff about side effects etc. However I wondered if anyone had any info about infections and biologics. Is it a big issue or no worse than when on dmards?

Now I’m back to how I was before, in pain a lot :-( My consultant wants to try me on
Abatacept
injections, has anyone had any success or experience with this? Apparently I’m ‘running out of options’ and if this doesn’t work there’s one more thing to try then it’s the end of the road.

RA treatments
Hi I was diagnosed with RA 2.5 years ago and I will be starting either rituximab or
abatacept
in August. Has anyone else had either of these treatments that could tell me what to expect? Thank you

EXPERIENCE OF RITUXIMAB AND TRIXUMA INFUSIONS TO CONTROL RHEUMATOID ARTHRITIS - ALSO USE OF ABATACEPT with or without Methotrexate therapy
She then suggested I should have
Abatacept
, but my local hospital CCG insists I must have Methotrexate with it. Yet I have read research papers stating
Abatacept
monotherapy does work. The odd excuse the CCG give is that it is cheaper to use both injections.

Dermal Face Fillers
However due to being on methotrexate and
abatacept
and the fact that my immune system is lowered I have checked with GP and was told it "wasn't recommended". I don't want to obviously do anything risky and create problems for myself. I assume it could cause an infection.

Orencia (abatacept)
My rheumatologist wants to put me on a monthly infusion of Orencia after having failed to find relief with all the standard oral meds (most of which caused terrible rashes, mouth sores, and/or hair loss) 😕. I must wait for insurance to approve it however, and fear it is going to be very expensive due

Cimzia...next on the list
Already tried and reacted badly to Benepali &
Abatacept
. I know I need to try others, depo injections are only easing pain for 6-8weeks, but I am so nervous I will react the same way that I'm not sure if any symptoms then all are just in my head ITMS.
