Positive reaction

Yesterday evening I accompanied a friend to see a hand surgeon to give some moral support. Turns out it was the same surgeon who operated on my thumb and index finger to remove nodules many years ago. Surgery was a complete success. When I mentioned it to him he had a look at my hands and commented on how good they are. He asked what drugs I am on so I said Methotrexate since diagnosis plus hydroxychloroquine and now a biologic as well (Abatacept). He said how well they have worked as without them my hands would have been completely

deformed by now.

I found this very reassuring as, probably like most of us here, I do sometimes wonder if the drugs are doing any good.

Hope some of you will also be reassured by this.

Thelma

Great news for you and a real wee professional boost for the surgeon too.
