Welcome to NOVEMBER !
Hello everyone and welcome to the Changing Room... slip into something comfortable and sit a while with us...
Yes... here we are, and the year is moving on a'pace, and I am moving with it... Loads of stuff happening for Mr OF and I this month, so I may be in and out a little less...BUT... I shall find time to check in and check up on all the chat!
It is well and truly Autumn, certainly where I live anyway... Nature is wearing her Autumn shades and colouring the world, beautiful !
But, with fewer hours of daylight, we may find ourselves spending less time outdoors, especially in the evenings or early morning . We may find too, a slight dip in motivation...the idea of outdoor exercise, does not appeal, and sometimes, even indoor exercise does not switch you on ! So, I have been thinking about ways that we can make sure, we keep everything ticking over nicely as we move forward this month!
Maybe if we treat this month as a time to shake things up ? I am doing that soon... inspired by a recent run post from @MissUnderstanding. , I am a morning runner, , but I am going to try, this week, to head out at 5-p.m ... for a run! She made it sound so interesting and exciting... and it is a long time since I ran at any time other than early!
A new exercise or workout time may be possible for you and alongside that, new routines, maybe?
There are loads of ways, as the days close in, we can shake things up.
Starting with our walks.. and I shall do this tomorrow... a brisker pace, and a heads up, look around, style. Taking everything in.
Leaf Kicking
Yes!
Find a walk with loads of trees, and LOADs of lovely leaves. Embrace your inner child and kick ! Kick as hard as you can, make as much noise as you can and have fun! Scrunch, crunch and KICK.
Apple Pick
Any apple trees around you... crab apple maybe, oak apple even? Where I walk, on the Downs, there are hundreds of fallen crab apples... I am going to walk and pick, bend and stretch, then ( making sure I do not hit anything or anyone..) I am going to throw them around... the small animals will make short walk of clearing up.
Twist and Turn
As we walk, we can vary our walk, straight lines, turning and bending . Swinging our arms from side to side, turning around and even walking backwards...we will need space for this; and not minding too much if folk stare!
Okay: That is a start.

Turn on your favourite tunes and move! Whether you dance alone or in a group, the impact on your well being is great! Good for the heart, improved balance and strength, and even, improved self-esteem.
Loads of apps out there too... just scroll around Apparently, just dancing around your living room to one song, can give you a boost in terms of health and mood,
Fun Yoga routines (with the children? )
Yoga for many of us is absolute great.., and there are some really good routines out there. Including some, that are intended for young ones, but prove great fun for us older, younger ones!
Take a look at some of these... I have done loads with small runner in training... and believe me, if you think they are a doddle... think again!

Just find something... short and sweet that you have never tried before... shake it up to get things moving...! Body Fit with Amy does loads of them.. for all levels too..one of my favourite sites!
