Hereβs our collective, virtual gym for our 7-Day James Dunne challenge, aimed to improve specifically those muscles needed for running: the glutes!
Some of you are further on already. Well done!
You couldnβt wait, could you? Aaaaah, those irresistible challenges, theyβre tempting like a box of assorted chocolates, arenβt they?! π
But I was strong and waited and am officially starting today!
So, if you havenβt subscribed for free to James Dunneβs challenge yet, itβs worthwhile doing so ( bulletproofrunners.com/p/7dc ). You get a link to a website which tracks your progress. Itβs quite neat. (I love those tick-marks! β )
So how have you found this routine? Let us know by reply! And let us know how far you are in the challenge!
I am keeping an eye on the progress of all of the gymsters!!! Still building back slowly up to 10K, so am being a tad careful not to go too far, too quickly with my exercising. It looks fabulous.

Ok did this earlier before my run this morning! The stretch is ok, but I was struggling a bit with the balance! Looking forward to how this develops over the week
Best of luck everyone!

Fabulous, yes, same here, although I donβt feel the stretch. I do feel it in my glutes.
I joined up and didn't read your post properly so have done 3 days. Love the exercise ( the fact it is do quick and can be done anywhere), but do it much slower or I topple over! Am really not very balanced. :() . Enjoy all!

Well done! Brilliant! Yes, I do love those quick S&F snacks and hacks. This will be a good one to add to the exercise-sweeties box!
day 1 done this morning. I needed my wardrobe beside me to balance.
And I had to correct hubbyβs form, as he originally touched his foot with the same side hand. (First argument, then demonstration, then showing him the video, finally humbled admission that I was right! ππππ₯° )
And watched the additional video! Does anyone else think that he loves slapping his glutes a bit too much!? π€£π€£π€£
Hi CBDB πββοΈ well day one complete but Iβm not too sure I did it correctly. It wasnβt so much the actual stretch it was more to do with the balance. However Iβll carry on and see just how much Iβm able to doπππxx

Yes, I think it will be rather like a body weight exercise with the glutes taking a lot of the weight. As long as I kept my knees bent, I could feel it in my glutes. And I have to continually leave at least one finger on my wardrobe shelf. Weβll get there.
I did Day One and I did *some* of the roller exercises too. Extremely painful; need to take them carefully and also figure out how to do them whilst balancing in a way that doesn't impact rotator cuff!
Good start though!
CBDBAdministratorGraduate Goldβ’ in reply toGthants
Oh dear. Now I do have to ask π how do you use the roller while doing the running man? π€£
Hope your rotator cuff stays strong. Pull back if you need it!
I meant I did both lots of exercises: first I did the running ones (which I did again this morning), and then I did some of the Fiton roller exercises. I'll do some more of those too, but my roller is firm and has nobbly bits and I think is a bit much for the state of my legs! I may have to look for something softer and less ouchy!

Ohh, yeah, sounds painful. I really like FitOn. I used to use it more often, but donβt get to use it very often nowadays. But I got my husband addicted to it! π€£π€£ itβs a great app/offer. And Iβm so glad the workouts are free.
I did day 1 the other day, balance not great but enjoyed it. Sadly since Tuesday I'm not able to do anything as blocked ears have seriously impacted balance. Back when I can
i did it....yeh sorry day late....my balance is not there yet but i will do day 3 tomorrow as have done day 2 as well...hopefully more balanced tomorrow
Ooohh well done! I bet you can feel it in your glutes if you have done both day 1 and 2. I did day 2 today, and it changed a bit how I ran or walk, I think. Being more conscious how I push off with my glutes. And either Iβm imagining it, but it feels as if itβs easier on my calves already and harder on my glutes.
I will look out for that tomorrow... Its a great exercise... I like how he wants us to build it up... Balance... Maybe tomorrow I will be more steady π
Did day 1 then lost internet so late replying! It was good - my balance is much better as I've kept doing pilates while I couldn't run. π I'll pick up day 2 and 3 after my race Sunday π
