Well!!!! I’ve done the deed and bought a set of steps to continue my aerobic stepping journey on.
Being joyfully swept along by our very own ToothPickJafah , I managed to finally get my act together and use a Black Friday deal to become proud owner of a step!
Now I just have to wait until its happy arrival! (It’s a …… step!!!)
I’ve been here before. I actually had ordered a step and some Nordic walking poles ca 2 years ago from Decathlon. The poles arrived, the steps never did and it took me at least several months to get a refund.
So I never dared order again.
But now is a different story!
So come on, my step! Hurry to my house and let’s get stepping!

Mine arrived today, I wasn't expecting it until Monday. I haven't tried it yet as it arrived just as I'd finished doing my steps without a step. Getting it into the lift and then the flat was a workout in itself.
Thanks TPJ, you've started something serious here 😅
Mine really is a whopper, lol. But it feels so safe. I hope to try it out tomorrow. I'm curious to see if I can do the 20mins with a real step, WITHOUT the raisers! Watch this space 🤣
Hi MutleyShuffle , mine is "Yahee" new was far too expensive, mine is used but new condition, a lucky find. I bought it for its size, it's 41 cms wide & very solid
Will report back, but I’m pretty sure I’ll love it. I’ve been wanting a proper step for the past two years, and of course there is so much you can do with it. I had been using all sorts of alternatives, from yoga blocks to folded up blankets, to actually steps. So I’m really looking forward to a proper step.
OOh! I bought a step last year, but it's pretty much still hiding in the corner gathering dust...Let me know how it goes and exactly what you are doing with it please.
Hi Curlygurly2 ! I’ve been doing it since start of the month and fell back in love with it!!
If you wish to learn how to step, go to the following playlist and work your way through the tutorials…Chris is an excellent teacher and she breaks down all the moves so they’re easy to learn.
I started with the first video and just worked my way through them. After every 5 video tutorials there’s a combo workout where Chris puts the moves together. I got up to the intermediate moves and now I’m working my way through the beginner basic classes then I’ll start doing the intermediate ones.
So! Like TabbyCat says…go get that step, dust it off and join the StepGang!!
I’ve been posting about my step journey on S&F forum so you can check them out if you like.
I went down a rabbit hole of YouTube step aerobics videos, and realised there is so much out there to explore, with steppers almost combining dance-like choreographies, great music with aerobic and strengthening workouts.
All great for our knees, glutes and calves so great for runners!
I cannot believe how fast they arrived! It came this morning, and I’m now all sweaty having done the first choreography of the CDorner Beginners series, and my oh my, it’s even more of a workout compared to my folded-blanket-step make-do! 🤣🤣🤣 Phew! I’ll be parking the risers for quite a while!
Have just finished doing this video workout for the third time.
I did this 8 min session first with gym shoes at normal speed, and by end I struggled to get the coordination correct.
Then following TheTabbyCat ’s lead, I did the choreography at 75% , still with shoes on, and the slow speed helped get the choreography right (I’m still a beginner, I know!).
But surprisingly, I then took my shoes off and did it only with socks at normal speed. And it’s so much easier with only socks and I could keep in time without problems, and stay in sync.
Not sure why shoes slow me down, but it seems they do! But I will definitely keep in mind the option of slowing the video down.
Fun! That’s my 20min morning aerobics done!
(Now, with which fitness tracker can I track this?)
Great buy CBDB 👌 I love the colour 😍 Funny you should say about the shoes making things harder,I was just thinking the same so tomorrow I'll follow your lead and get my non slip socks on. Tbh I thought it was just me but I have to concentrate on getting the height. I looked at Chris's shoes and they do seem lighter than mine, could be my imagination 😅
I've just finished 3 tutorials, quite enough for now ,off for a cuppa.
I am finding my old step is a bit too shallow - I can only just fit my great foot on it! I must admit I have started browsing the sales...(this after only doing 2 workouts!!)
