S&F Catch-Up: How is everyone’s sunny March going?

Hi lovely VWBs, VYB, VPBs, and VRBs,

Just wanted to ask how everyone’s doing?

I’ve been a bit quiet recently, having had some sad news within the family. So my Pilates and rowing stopped, but I managed to keep my running going.

The weather probably helped with this, as those sunny March mornings just banish any gremlins that might be hanging around one’s bedroom in the mornings.

And those morning runs in the green and crisp nature of my hilly routes felt just so refreshing.

And that reminded me also of the start of my S&F journey, when 3 years ago I embarked on the NHS 5-week programme. I was doing these outside in my garden during the summer of 2020. I used a sitting bench beneath a leafy beech tree for my bench dips. And a small supple Japanese maple branch for pull-ups. So I remember the morning light glancing through leaves of trees very well as I did my pull-ups, the feel of the bark on trees and the freshness of morning dew when getting close to the ground with squats and dips.

So this time of the year beckons me outside, risking leaving indoor workouts behind. Last year, I took our picnic blankets and yoga mats outside to experience Yoga with hubby in our garden.

So who else is tempted by the glimpses of spring weather we get around this time of year?

Has anyone taken their Yoga or Pilates or other workouts outside yet?

Before the pandemic, I tried out yoga in the park, which was offered by a local yoga teacher. It was fun, though since I didn't have a proper mat, it was a bit uncomfortable. Now that I have a mat, she isn't teaching anymore... Now I do the next best thing: Practice with the windows open!

And it's nice to have you back on the forum, CBDB ! Hopefully, those spring morning runs can keep their healing magic going 🤗

Yes, I do envy those scenes in glossy magazine with images of people exercising in front of French open door windows with beautiful nature just outside. 😀

I have done yoga in the garden, and on my decking overlooking the sea when at the coast... many times, but still too cold here... It is very refreshing and makes you feel so much better.

I have done a few YWA this time looking through the window at snow falling, which was lovely... especially from the inside!

Hold that feeling of Springtime in your heart xxx

I’m a bit hit and miss with the yoga, got out of routine with lots of life changes but need to get back to it !! Like the running it’s good for mind and body 🧘🏼‍♀️
