March MATness Day 15: The Neck Pull

With March 15th, we’re almost half way through the month, though not quite half way through the 34 exercises… Today, we switch back to sitting. This exercise is made a bit either when done with a strap on a Pilates Mat. If you don’t have one, you can also use a Magic Circle between your feet (roughly parallel to the mat) or a band or yoga strap around your feet.

Andrea Maida elaborates: “Now we return to where we started with the Roll Up, but some rules have changed: Legs apart and arms all tied up behind the head. I see the Neck Pull as a counter stretch after the extension exercises as well as a test of the stability of the lower body which was strengthened with the Single and Double Leg Kicks and Thigh Stretch.” (We didn’t do the Thigh Stretch as it’s not in the book (via pilatesandrea.com/on-the-or... ).

As always, if you need to warm-up, do at least The Hundred, maybe all of the previous 14 exercises. Then repeat this exercise 3 times.
