Hi I’ve been having pain on my lower calves & ive been told it’s my Achilles’ tendon or my top body is misaligned & they recommend yoga stretches. It’s due to repetitive running which have been doing for years. Will seeking a professional help me & roughly how long for? Or any other useful tips?

Painful calves
When I got injured last summer I started doing yoga and it actually made the problem worse so I'd say it's probably a good idea to see a physio. They can diagnose the problem and suggest exercises to tackle whatever the problem is. How long will depend on what the issue is I think. There are a few resources out there to help with Achilles problems but it's probably best to find out if that's what it is first. Hope you feel better soon!
I think it best to see a physio as Beatles says. I found one that was a runner. He's generally very relaxed about my many niggles and gives very targeted and useful exercises. What you can do is also go there with links of videos and get them to check out the exercises. So maybe you can find a good James Dunn one or bill and bob and see if the exercises are suitable to you. I hope you get a result soon!
Yoga is so good for so many things, so feel free to join us on our collective virtual yoga mat. Quite a few of us follow the YWA calendar and we have a monthly post on here for that. Currently healthunlocked.com/strength...
Let us know how your trip to the physio goes.
I’ve purchased a hand massage gun hopefully that’ll help. Not had much luck with a good physio as 1 tried to rip me off.
