What is your favourite exercise prop?

How is everyone doing? Has everyone managed to stay on the strength and flex wagon? And has a specific prop helped you in keeping on keeping on? Feel free to share in the comments below.

I was recently reminded again about how many yoga props I started with (2 blankets, 2 cushions, blocks and a strap) and how I now only need the blocks and blanket. And the Yoga blocks are definitely my favourite. I probably over rely on them too much but using them feels so right and comfortable, helping my wrists, back and whole body to do most yoga poses that without blocks would be impossible. It helps also with me getting the poses right, what they call alignment.

So what is your favourite exercise prop? How long has it been in your “arsenal of tools” and how often do you use it. And most importantly, how has it helped you? And yes, please do share your pics!

I ditched my yoga mat, it was leaving little green foam pieces everywhere 🤣 I do it on carpet anyway.

I have a few things I use daily;

Set of 3k bright orange dumbells

Bright green 4kg kettlebell

Purple and black xn8 aerobic step

I recently snapped my "medium" orange resistance band so had to replace it with a red one, which I'm convinced isn't as tough

Then on days off I add in my cheap and nasty blue 8kg kettlebell.

Consigned to the cupboard are the remaining bands from the set, most of which are too "light" for me, a pair of sliders for doing inner thigh slides (but it hurts my knees) and a skipping rope. I have considered yoga blocks more than once but as I'm managing without, I guess I don't really need them? 🤔

Favourite, though not being used much at the moment because I'm going to bootcamp sessions three times a week:

My super duper thick yoga mat.

Mini resistance bands.

My aerobic step when used for Step, but not for physio. the step down exercise that I'm supposed to do for physio using it is a killer - and even now, still hard enough to make me despondent when I can't accomplish it : (

Oh yeah, I love my thick yoga mat as well! Definitely a key of my favourite props. It’s your new one as well, right?

I’ve got a set of resistance bands but I’m not using them as much anymore, as I used to. I must get back to them. I bought them actually for when I started out in the NHS 5-week S&F programme! 😃 so what are “mini” resistance bands?

Step… mmmhh, I’m very intrigued by so many people on here swearing by a step. I used to think, that’s what you have stairs for, but it looks so much more versatile than that. Tempting……

Yes, it’s my new yoga mat.

Mini resistance bands are the ones that are a loop.

My stairs at home weren’t deep enough (from front to back) for me to do my physio properly. Plus you can change the height of an aerobics step 👍

My pull up bar!

Also comes in very handy for hanging up wetsuits 😂

That looks like a great pull-up bar. Mine is rather very simple and removable. But that one looks like a game changer!

It's the kind that just sits on the door frame, but it works well for me! xxx

Do you have to screw it on or is it wedged in?

Just wedged in

My weight training gloves. I don't really specifically do weight training nowadays but they have been in service a long time and they also stop my sweaty hands sliding about when we do floor exercises at the end of a jazzercise class.

It's a shame the diamantes are falling off. I think they're the type of gloves Jodie Marsh would use 😁

I've also got a super thin natural rubber and jute yoga mat that I really love.

I always likes to use little Iron bar for pushup. This is my favorite exercise prop.
