The YWA June Calendar (“EXPAND”)🗓 is already here! As is our new virtual ‘room’ to chat all things YWA, and I’ll pin it as well. 📌
I will pop in here and there, but this month I will not be doing a daily Yoga practice myself, because I’ve promised myself to try a daily Pilates practice for this month. But if anyone wants to pop in to Pilates in June, I’ll post a link soon but the playlist is here: youtube.com/playlist?list=P...
Big WELCOME to any new Virtual Workout Buddies joining us, the daily practice of YWA calendar is perfect to get started with Yoga.
And feel free to - as Adriene says - “find what feels good”, meaning if your knees feel too sensitive, amend that Child’s Pose. And if you find full planks are the stuff of nightmares (I still do, but less and less so ), rather do half planks than full ones. And definitely get creative with props.
Here is a hopefully helpful post about YOGA props.
Thanks for the link CBDB. I’ve been off piste with Adriene this past month as I have a grumbly big toe joint which can’t handle the transitions to and from plank and downward dog, amongst other things. I’ll check out Expand and see what takes my fancy, but I don’t want to jeopardise my running.
Thanks CBDB. Luckily (very luckily) it doesn’t affect my running and walking at all. It doesn’t like certain bendy positions, and tells me so in no uncertain terms when I try to push it. 🙄
Thanks CBDB! Not sure ‘Expand’ is the most positive word 😅 but there are only so many adjectives to choose from!
May was quite tough with all the core work. It should certainly help your Pilates!
After all this time doing YWA I didn’t know there was a playlist! Thankyou, it will save me wearing out my Firestick remote control tapping the name out in Search each day! Really should keep up with your yoga posts each month, you do such a brilliant job 😻
Some good ones in there: the chance to have another go at Crow and headstands which I go to in trepidation but will be counterbalanced by the shoulder stand and side planks which I love - bring it on! 💪
(It still is in my “advanced” and “to try in the future” page, but I have been watching in awe everyone’s crows, including my hubby who does my everyday practice with me most days)
Ooohhh, you are in for a treat! I loved the daily practice and will come back to it next month! And yes, it actually gets me out of bed! (Which my hubby says is quite something)
Day 21 - UP YOUR CONNECT: Connected with YWA on Yoga Day (yey!) this morning, and it was so nice revisiting YWA after 21 days of Pilates.
But boy where the flows a bit harder again. Down dog and stepping into lunge took a bit more effort, child’s pose less. They are easy now for me but I’m still only doing extended child’s pose.
