Exercises 🍏

There’s very little that will stop me getting up and out for my run. I love it so much!

😱But oh I do find it SO hard to motivate myself into doing strength & flex on my rest day. I know I need to, I know it will keep me running! I also know I am lazy!!! 😩

Just try and find a regular time..adopt a routine..work out what you want in it...and then make it part of some of your rest days. .it will become a wonderful habit...😉

I don’t think this is unusual... I’m much more into the actual running side of things and some days they can be a chore... I love being outdoors too so now it’s a little cooler I have even less enthusiasm for strength and flex as the park isn’t an option as a venue. I’m proud of myself when I’m done though... and a little less vulnerable to injury.

Please don’t put yourself down, especially on holiday. Hubby and I have now got into a routine - routine is key. Every morning pot of tea in bed then straight to either a run or “workout” at home. We don’t both do the same thing on the same day but do tend to finish together for porridge and fruit.

Routine is key to discipline & that’s what I need to do too! ⏰

I'm as lazy as they come, but what motivates me to now do 2 or 3 yoga classes over the weeks rest days and a bit of home stretching and strength exercising is to keep the joffling going - which I also love - by avoiding injury as far a possible AND the added benefits that i have discovered for everyday living. For eg i was able to clean our shower much more easily as I'm bending and flexing so much more easily. I know, how sad am I! 😂. Also, i was really shocked and tbh scared by the realisation that i was on a slippery slope to poor health and mobility if I didn't get a grip and got on with 'moving it, or losing it'! I do also take medication which has a side effect of reducing bone density, so that needs addressing too. I post as maybe some of my points resonate with you and will help motivate you a little!

Same issue here. Saturday I had down as a strength day. It poured all day so I was inside. No excuses. I'd already booked a rest day for last week. Did I do a srength routine? NO! I had another rest day instead. Grrrr.

How can we LOVE running & hate exercise?? 🤣 I suppose it doesn’t give us the same buzz even though it requires the same discipline and routine as running. The rewards are great but there’s no feel good factor. Running is like chocolate & exercise like vegetables. We need both! 🤣🤣

I am determined to conquer this inner laziness & make friends with the dreaded flex & strength. I feel like adding “next week” 🤣 but will be an angel and say today! 😇

I miss the fresh air benefits that running and cycling give you. I'll join you. Today. One strength routine. Will report back later!

I've done mine! It actually only took 22 minutes (with the minimum number of reps). I wouldn't have done it though if I hadn't posted here, so thank you 🙂👍

I had a terrible time getting going with S&F after I found running, for me it helped to do just two exercises a week, I opted for squats and planks and no matter what I do, I do them every week. I try to get to the gym to do them and while I am there I do my other exercises. It seems to of helped keeping it easy and small for me. Good luck. Rfc x

I’m like this too, I just forget all about strengthening. I’m heaps better are remembering to stretch before and after my runs.
