Just realised something!

I was typing a reply to Johnnylewis and I was mentioning I have been working on my Strength for my hamstrings for 5 months now.

Somewhere along the line they got better. šŸ˜€. Just a few little exercises every week and I donā€™t feel the pull anymore. The stretch he gave me to do, I actually now look like I can do it šŸ˜‚. And get real benefits from it.

I am surprised that just plugging away at it has helped and I feel so much stronger. I have faith in my physio, but they did feel like a very small things to be doing to help something that felt a lot bigger. Just goes to show how those little changes make a big difference.

Keep going everyone, it is worth it.šŸ˜€

Thatā€™s really good to read... the small things certainly add up to something much bigger. As always youā€™re an inspiration to me... might have to add that stretch in next week.

I hadn't really acknowledged that my hamstrings donā€™t hurt anymore, strange how we can just accept things without thinking about it šŸ˜€. I can do the stretch above no problem now. When I was first given it to do it was so painful to try and straighten my leg, I now can straighten my leg and flex my feet for a deeper stretch. šŸ˜€.

I think the lack of pain is difficult to detect. After 30 years of knee pain and OldFloss pointing me here it was weeks before I realised that I hadnā€™t felt them for a while.

That is great news.

This is one of the stretches we do at the end of Pilates but I canā€™t get my leg that straight. Did you do it everyday for. A certain time to improve? Did you use a band to help? It would be great if I could stretch them a bit .

I started off with three times a week for a couple of months and then went to once a week with my gym session. I have weak hamstrings so I think it is something I will always have to do. My physio didnā€™t want me to use a band just go as straight as I could to begin with out pain and keep working on it. Now I can do it like the picture and the killer part was getting the sole of feet placed right, I started by not being able to flatten my foot to the ceiling but now I can get a good stretch as I flex my foot too. It was strange it just seem to happen without me realising it, I really do think that is why we have problems with S&F and motivation because it is not like distance and speed it is so hard to see our progress. Keep going. Rfc x

Thank you. I am a great one for routine, it takes a little while to set up a good one but once I have it it becomes like a little comfort thing that I want to do every week. Rfc x

Iā€™m getting into a new routine with S&F too. It does take time, but it feels good when you get to the point where you know itā€™s just what you do. Iā€™m getting there I think. Enjoy! šŸ¤—ā¤ļø
