I was reading about planks, several people reported personal bests regarding the length of time they could hold a elbow plank, the longest was 7 minutes without a break, just over a year ago I managed a 6 minutes plank and one of the weekly planks I do along with a YouTube video is what is called "7 minute plank challenge" however, there are four 15 second breaks, from the first second to the last second it's altogether 8 minutes, planks are 7 minutes with the 15 second breaks.
1 minute plank-15 seconds break
90 seconds plank-15 seconds break
2 minutes plank-15 seconds break
90 seconds plank-15 seconds break
finally a 1 minute plank, BUT after reading about several people doing 7 minutes WITHOUT a 15 seconds break I challenged myself for a non stop 7 minute plank, I managed it JUST, for the last 30 seconds I was literally shaking, hold on, just 15,10,5 seconds to go, wow made it, doing it non stop without the 15 seconds breaks was murder. 😊

That was punishment for me Pianism, they say it's good for the 'core' ha, what core, 3 minutes is long enough, try gradually to hold on a little longer each time you do it up to 2 or 3 minutes. 😊
Thanks UNM, I only did it as a challenge to myself, I use something soft for my arm to be on, this afternoon when I did that 7 minute elbow plank I put two towels over the yoga mat so that there was a soft part that my arm could go into, any longer than 3 minutes needs more than just a yoga mat for me, a nice soft rug is what t I use for that "seven minute plank challenge" I do with the YouTube video with the 15 seconds breaks."
My favourite plank workout is not the above mentioned 7 minute one but the
3 minute perfect plank workout with Tom Holland on Bowflex, (3.39)you could try that one, there are slight variations of 30 seconds,
I doubt I could do it on a nice soft mattress 🤣. I do my regular planks on a wooden floor though... maybe a yoga mat would help.
I’m going to start working on high plank I think... when I started it was the easier one, so I worked on low plank and didn’t improve my high one at all.
.Just wondering if you have been watching on Sky Arts HD. television the "The Download Rock Festival from Doddington Park" I think that's the kind of music you and Miss UNM will like, I don't mind that music but not to run to.
Not been watching. I used to go back when it was Monsters of Rock. I’d get vexed at a multi stage gig as there would be loads of bands that I’d like to see but couldn’t... in many cases the main stage headliners. I was once in the part of the crowd that left the arena before AC/DC came on stage, but these days I quite like them. Every year they have bands on that I would like to try live... but they’re usually up against smaller bands who I’d prefer.
Try that YouTube video with Tom Holland on Bowflex, he stands between two ladies instructing them while they do their planks, he says to the viewer at one point "if you want a short break jump back in", your three hour London Marathon physio might be able to help you with your planks
Hi S11m, it's just the angle that makes it look like she's doing the side plank wrong, she is a expert, I do the longer 3 minute perfect plank workout with Tom Holland twice a week on my non running days, that consists of 6/30 seconds variations of that video version.
Three minutes is long enough to do a plank, I was sort of testing myself on how long I would last as I read from a few people saying that they could not last longer than 7 minutes.
