Hello all you lovely runners !

This is my first post on here and would like some of your great advice please. I graduated in March and am running regularly 3 times a week but would like to increase my strength, I’m currently doing yoga on my rest days and also doing the plank daily.

What else is the best strength exercise to get a strong body and legs for a 49 year old ? 🏃‍♀️

Do you want to go the gym? If not then try Ntc (NIKE TRAINING CLUB). It's a free app and you basically input all your details and how much time etc you have. They will then give you workouts to do to strengthen you and even flexibility. As you input how you found the workout it will adjust your following week. It's pretty cool. You can also sdit your weeks workouts to suit you. Also there is plenty off one off workouts you can do to help you.

Ps it also has a running app which is top class. They are free in the app stores. Have a look at it

Thanks so much Johnny ! Sounds great and I already use the Nike Run app for all my running and didn’t realise there was another one so off to download now.

Don’t want to pay for gym membership so will be doing my exercises at home....

Big thanks 👍

Hello!! I’ve also seen that on the NRC app, under the My Coach option there’s a customisable Get Fit Plan - and this combines running with strength and flex - So on some days there are running challenges, and some days it links to the Nike Training Club app and there are strength and flex exercises. I tried it for about a week and thought it was fab... but then a holiday got in the way and all the strength-stuff went pear-shaped!! X must get back on track (and yoga mat!!) soon x
