The best plan, enjoyment

So after a week of just doing what I wanted when I wanted I woke up with a bang this morning. Legs wouldn't move. That was always the plan last week. Whatever happened happened. Last 2 months has been geared towards duathlon training. So next 2 months till after my holiday I think I'm just going to enjoy running and cycle as much as I can. I will do my weights and push ups as usual. This is more to do with run for a certain time Instead of trying to run as fast as I can, I'm just going to run for time. Whatever distance that takes me then so be it. Cycling wise I'm. Setting a bench mark of 80-100 miles a week. No more apps or big plans. I'm stripping it all back and just enjoying it. If I get my belly sorted then all the better, if not well I'm In so much better shape than I started.

You’ve done an amazing job since arriving on this platform. What a transformation in mind a body. You’ve done a duathlon which is amazing to be honest. You’re spot on though I think, the most important thing it needs to be is fun and I think constantly training to event after event can get a little bit of a chore. You have a fitness level that will allow you to train for anything and going for a timed run, and your cycling is going to keep that well up, so next time you feel the need for an event you can just drop into that next plan.

Well done, you have come so far, I have seasons for training, November to May are my endurance, training for my long swim and HM, then June to October are my speed and strength training. I have done that since 2014 and it really seems to suit me.
