Well actually less of being back on the meds and more of a continuation of how things have been going. I started back on Nifedipene...or rather the branded Adalat version now since the 22nd February 2013. 3 x 5mg per day and cocodamol 8mg/500mg, 8 a day. So light weight medication.
I've been coping reasonably well, the Adalat started kicking in about last Sunday as I noted that the colour changes weren't happening so much and the numbness was beginning to ease up. So good so far then. I've been able to type much more, the Cocodamol is somewhat effective at keeping the pain at bay although its still there.
Unfortunately I think I'm reacting badly to the Nifi as two days ago I got this damn awful headache that when it got me up out of bed at 4am I had to take two of my Solpadols to get rid. (Yes, I overdosed on pain killers that day...). I went back to bed and thought nothing of it after all, I could get back to sleep due to taking the edge off the headache. I woke up with the headache however and it continued all through the day.
What has made me write this post though is the fact that the damn thing is back with a vengeance. Considering that it is one sided it could be that my eyes have deteriorated and my glasses are no longer satisfactory. I do seem to be using my left eye a lot more than my right. I'm not exactly sure why the headache is so strong even though I'm taking pain relief medication and the only real theory I can put it down to is the Adalat.
If I still have the headaches come next monday I'll head to the doctor and see what they'll be able to do. But I actually want to be able to use my hands and not be at risk of the slightest damn breeze any more.
So basically with the temperature picking up (aside from today), things are outwardly looking more positive, the frequency and severity of the attacks *should* come down. The numbing attacks are decreasing in line with the medication but it may be that the headaches will continue. I'll probably be in a dilemma come monday and have to choose between headache or numb fingers . Or...he might give me stronger pain relief (I doubt that). It's not as if I can take ibuprofen either. *sighs*.
...side note: Ooh blurry vision that's new.
I hope everyone else will be looking forwards to lower energy bills during the summer and I'll try and put a blog post together for summerware later on (unless someone beats me to it).
Anyway, I'm going to go back to bed before I fall off the chair.
Later folks!
