Bruises.

Does anyone get random bruises that appear in odd places all over your body? I do.. I don't bang myself, they can be big or small, and I had a bruise that kept reacurring every few months. I wondered if anyone else has that problem? I thought it might be connected to Raynauds.

Not sure if it is connected though I do have various lumps, bumps and bruises in various places. I have one bruise on the top of my foot near my toes, appeared about 2 months ago and still there, I took photographs. Absolutely no idea sorry.

I have raynauds and scleroderma,.......... I always have random bruises that appear for no reasons at all............ Last night I had a lovely warm bath.........and a large purple bruise appeared on my knee !!!! I don't recall seeing it when I was in the bath, but whilst applying body lotions I noticed the bruise....it's really strange,.... I sometimes have very deep purple ones on my face, which I at first thought was telangectasia....however,.......... they fade or suddenly disappear.....I really don't know how, what or why these bruises appear.....a couple of weeks ago I was applying a local analgesia to my painful knees before going to bed.....in the morning my knees were covered in what I only can describe as a menigoccocal rash.....I am also on lifelong warfarin for recurrent DVTs, so I thought the bruises were related to the warfarin....however the nurses at the anticoagulant clinic did'nt have a clue what had caused the bruises.......I must honestly say I have no idea why these bruises appear... best of luck..........take care x

Glad you asked this as iv had a massive bruise on my thigh for about a week now. Its like a hand print but just the finger parts. Not banged myself or anything. And seems to be gettin worse rather than fading. And the purple like bruises I get all the time if I use my hand to do anything. Strange but happens.

I get peculiar bruising mainly from just scratching severe itchy patches that I get. These can be the size of my hands (which are big) & they go very deep purple which can last for about 3 weeks before fading. I showed my GP & was told it was linked to inflammation caused by vasculitis. I do have Raynauds & Scleroderma.

I'm no doctors but can I suggest you get your blood checked, it could be that your platelets are low which is something that needs to be addressed.

Bluebells here. I'm not sure but you need to see a doctor. I've discovered that it is not good to self diagnose. A bruise can be nothing or something serious related to your blood or a major organ. Don't take chances. See a doctor soon. Better safe than sorry. Take Care!!

Thanks for asking this question! I had bruises on my inner thigh last week for no apparent reason. I thought it was just me. Perhaps it's more common than I thought

I have discovered that I bruise very easily, sometimes I do not know where I have got the bruises from. The other day I tried to open a jar, stupid idea when I have a lot of pain from the Raynauds, I bruised part of my hand because of this. I have told doctor about this, although I have not been given a reason why this happens. Good luck with finding out, all the best.

Well I was recently told that I have low thyriod could that be causing reacuring bruises?

Still don't understand anything about raynauds myself. What I do no I have found out from this site. So glad I found this or id no nothing. I have had 2 appointments in 8 days at the hospital 1 with rheumi useless visit as he said the raynauds specialist will speak to U and advise U next Tues when U c her. Went Tues. Ad bloods done as normal. Ad xray of my shoulder. And now have to go back again on 8th Jan. And I have to have a swallow test. And the cold challenge. Even tho I defo have raynauds. 2 in my eyes waste of appointments they was. As im no wiser. And still in as much pain. Its crackin me up. And the bruises I get and have now on my leg are deep purple. I was puzzled as it so bad I was sure I wud av recalled bangin myself with it looking so bad. Hope U all keep safe,warm and well. X horrid this raynauds. No1 understands unless they have it themselves the pain it gives.

Do you take aspirin or other blood thinning agent? They cause bruising, but not important, it goes ..... and comes.
