Really itchy face and tiny spots
Hi I developed rosacea with tiny vesicles. My GP prescribed a course of Soolantra cream which cleared up the vesicles which appeared to be due to Demodex mites (there is a poorly understood link). My rosacea is still there but not as bad.
Hi Who, I had a rash on my skin which was quite itchy and sore! I also had lots of small spots which were hard and a bit blistery. This was about 3 months after I was diagnosed with scleroderma When I went to my gp he referred me back to my rheumatologist who thought it was a reaction Mycophenolate. He took me off it and although it improved I still get occasional flair ups on my face. Should probably go back to my gp and get it looked at by a dermatologist but I don’t think I want anymore hospital appointments at the moment. Hope you get sorted soon.
Hi Clangerscat thanks for you reply, I'm on methotrexate I've been on it for about 4 years so hoping it's not that, I noticed yesterday it felt a bit calmer. I'm going to see if it stays calm of not I'll phone my dermatologists secretary and see if they can suggest anything, can you believe it, I've just had a appointment with her and this started the day after!! Good luck with your health xx
I go through phases of extreme itching with tiny spots on arms and backs of hands. My dermatologist says it's allergic or folliculitis or dermatitis and prescribes steroids and anti fungals. When they occasionally perforate into hard white toothpaste stuff she says it's perforating Cholagenosis - which is a rare microvascular skin disease usually related to end stage renal and diabetes - neither of which I have. But it can be connective tissue disease related and I also have HSD/ EDS so maybe the two collagen vascular processes are at battling it out? But privately I've long decided the tiny spots are some kind of dyshyrotic eczema - which I've had flares of all my life, triggered now by occasional flares of skin tightening of my SSc - which relapses and remits. The only thing that gives me temporary relief is dermacool menthol cream. I'm under neurology for neuropathy, gastroparesis and Erythromelalgia so my neurologist prescribes me the 5% cream but 2% worked well before. Mine seems to usually flare in winter when my Raynauds is worse. I used to get little itchy spots on face with Methotrexate and researched and decided it was mites due to immunesuppression. I'm now on Mycophenolate ( for over 4 years) and this controls just about all of my skin problems very well.
Thank you for your lovely reply, there's so many different issues that come along with Scleroderma isn't there! I'm almost sure it's not the methotrexate my bloods are ok and never had this before, it's definitely calmed more so hopefully it's clearing up, but I'll definitely mention it on my next appointment and I've taken pics so she can see what it was like, thanks for your reply xx
