Hello, I'm David and I'm a student primary school teacher at the University of Brighton where I hope to qualify in 2013. I was diagnosed with Raynaud's when I was 20 so its now been 8 years. My Mum had Raynaud's and I think my maternal Granddad also had Raynaud's.

Hello
Do you have primary or secondary david? Are you affected in your job much by it? I am a lawyer so am mostly office based and I have a heater next to my desk when I need it. Thankfully our office is pretty warm so it doesn't affect me too much at work. It's mostly that evil outside I don't like
I have primary and I seem to be affected when in uni full time (the usual writing and stuff) but when in the classroom it seems to be ok probably because I'm thinking about the lesson plan and children. I have only really noticed the temperature when the caretaker has insisted on saving money and turning the heating off early. Outside certainly is evil and I hate the fact we appear still in our winter clothes long after the shorts seem to be appearing round campus. At home the portable heater seems to follow me around.
Hi David, have you tried recording your lectures and then typing them out on the computer later. I find it much easier to type than write, I know there will be things that you will have to write, but maybe if you let them know about your Raynaud's and the issues with it they will let you use a computer to do your writing on and print it out for them.
And I to have gotten used to the weird looks when I am wondering around in gloves and all my anti cold apparatus, and my portable space heater is never far away!
Could it be hereditary?
Thats an interesting point as i have spoken to some that say its hereditary in the male line but not female.
