DLA now known as PIP goes on how you are affected by medical/mobility problems rather than the medical condition it's self. The entitlement rules changed when it transferred over to PIP best thing to do is get have a look on the internet and see if you fit within the criteria if you are having trouble walking about because of damage to your feet you may well be entitled to the mobilty aspect. The care aspect focusses on how well you can look after yourself ie, can you wash and how do you cope generally looking after yourself. Unfortunately having rayanuds does not guarantee that you will get it.

I wouldn't have thought raynauds alone would qualify you for any benefits but I am no expert. I would be interested to know how you get on with your application. I have never thought of applying but I am finding it increasing difficult to go to work as I have raynauds in my hands and feet as well as scleroderma and essential thrombocythemia, a form of bone marrow cancer. My feet are so painful, especially when I have to work outside in winter, I am not sure which condition is causing the pain and none of the consultants I have seen have been able to tell me or offer a solution to the pain.

Hi all,

I wondered if there was some financial supplement for heating (I have it on loads) but I'm not sure there is, and for me, I get by with warm clothes and hot drinks. Not perfect but I can still work etc. I'm sure there are others who suffer much more and I think this is when there is maybe entitlement to support?

Good luck

Hi Lilly

I am in the same boat and can no longer work . I actually got a Social Worker to help. You can refer yourself. I just got a text on Fri to say I am getting ESA until they sort out my PIP.

Good luck.
