No, you won’t get it in the U.K. as far as I’m aware. I know that Americans are very convinced by its use, but I don’t think that there’s any empirical evidence for its efficacy.

Yes, I think same. I’ve read about it on ‘inspire’ which is predominantly American and wondered about it but never heard of it here.

Hi, I have scleroderma (11 years) and have been on minocycline steady for about 3 months til 7 days ago to help treat my quite bad calcinosis. The treatment appeared to be working for the calcinosis however, really stirred up skin on hands. Lots of burning pain, one joint very swollen, red and painful and new ulcer started (biggest one yet) on tip of one finger. Had also been feeling very stiff all over. On speaking with consultant, Decided to stop minocycline 7 days ago. Symptoms have very much reduced although ulcer will be there for god knows how long ! Now in dilemma that treatment appears to be reducing calcinosis but flaring up loads more. Only suggestion by consultant at moment is to have a rest from minocycline then restart with one week on, one week off. Would appreciate any other feed back on minocycline and how it has affected you, what dosage you on. Thanks

I've been on Minocycline for just a month to reduce my calcinosis which was very severe. It's probably too early to assess the effects but I sense that there has been some small improvement as my mobility has improved and pain reduced. So far no side effects.
