Hello everyone,

Has anyone found Nifedipine or Minitran patches helpful for Raynaud's?

And if you are using these, do you experience really bad side effects?

💚

Hi. I use Nifedipine with no problems. I also apply Minitran 5mg patches mostly in winter. They can give you a headache. You are only meant to use them for no more than 12 hours a day. I usually remove them when my head starts to ache. They do help with my severe Raynauds. However they also make my skin itchy where the patch was and leave a red mark but this abates after a couple of days. For quick effect Minitran is good whereas Nifedipine is more slow release over time. They have both saved me from digital ulcers. Best wishes.

Thank you. Yes, minitran gives me really bad headache too. Unfortunately I get really lightheaded and dizzy with nifedipine.

Maybe you could take a lower dose of Nifedipine? However if you already have low blood pressure, Nifedipine can make you light headed. I feel for you because it does get cold in the UK. I live in Australia so I am spared from really harsh winters.Have you tried exothermic handwarmers? They are from Japan. They last 10 hours. Wear them under your gloves. Chemists sell them. I find they help in winter. Good luck. 😀
