Keeping warm

So.. me again hi 👋 everyone 🤗

I’m feeling the cold like many of you and am contemplating about buying vests. Typical 27 (not wearing the old fashioned Dad ones my old mean wore). Anyway.. getting over that- cotton is obviously an issue (definitely doesn’t help with the sweating issue). Has anyone got any useful places I should be looking? Stay warm -J x

Thermal vests may help sell lots of warm clothes at camping shops worth a try?

Thank you 🙏 I also run the risk of getting to hot quickly - little nightmare tbh especially when teaching

Sounds like you need lots of layers that you can shed if you get hot. I don't know about men's vests but I picked up a very thin vest from a market for layer 1. Layer 2 is a thermal short sleeve vest from M&S. Layer 3 is a short sleeve thin sweater from M&S. Layer 4 is a T-shirt. Layer 5 is a sweater, preferably with some wool content. Layer 6 is a thick cardigan. If you get hot you can gradually strip down to layer 3!! Layer 3 & 4 could be long sleeved but my arms don't get cold and I find long sleeves difficult to get on when there are a lot of layers. Good luck.

Under everything I wear very thin thermal stretchy long sleeved lowish neck t-shirt type garments from Marks and Spencer. They come in pretty colours - I like the coloured sleeves peeping out from under my next layer. But it's not the look that blokes might like to wear. Perhaps a sleeveless thermal under your other garments would help and it would go undetected. I was a teacher and the kids don't miss a trick do they? You could splash the cash and get silk items - more expensive but very thin and probably more comfortable. I think it's a matter of trial and error to find what you're happy with. Best of luck.

Hi

Like all above, I think layers is the key. I wear lots of layers all of which I get from M&S. I bought lots of stuff at end of winter last year in the sale for this winter. Some of the thermal stuff can be quite pricey if bought normally.

How about either ski shops for the thermal ones or maybe like the special t shirts / vest runners or rugby players wear that keep the sweat away?

I just wear loads of layers stretchy primark vest first then up I got to cotton vest tops and then t shirt etc etc. I'm lucky though being a female there is far more of that kind of thing available. But I imagine sports shops would be a good start for you. I get my thermal stuff from ski shops.

Not what you're looking for?
