keeping warm.....: is anyone else... - Scleroderma & Ray...
keeping warm.....
I use an electric blanket at no.2.
Number 3 for me....at least others are like us I guess....
First night of 2013 that I haven't was last night and I live in hopes that I can knock off the central heating and the blanket for a little while now that SUMMER IS HERE (I hope).
Yes, I am still using hot water bottles, friends can't believe it! I like electric blankets but cant use them due to my hot flushes; I am forever throwing the duvet back, then pulling it back on. The last couple of nights I have managed with just one hot water bottle instead of two, but my feet get so cold. Also get very restless legs and feet; have heard that Magnesium tablets could help but reluctant to try them as I dont know how they will react with my Crohns. Any one tried them?
If you've been diagnosed with Restless Leg Syndrome there's a website that has loads of info. I've got Raynaud's and restless leg and found the website very useful. I spoke to a lady there who said that magnesium leg wraps might be helpful.
I think I have this also.... What's the website address? :£
I can't remember off-hand but if you google Restless leg Syndrome you should find it. It's a UK site.
Thank youuuu
Ok thanks guys :D:D
I have a electric heated cushion which I use to keep my feet warm. I use this all seasons. I am also still using my winter duvet (I also have two blankets in the winter).
ps I also live in Wales.
Clever.....I'll look into those....are they good (the foot thingy) ?
Hi
I placed an entry in the community blog entitled "Husband leaves wife due to arguments over bedding ...." on 24th June. In it I've detailed what works for me and 6 other people have also left other suggestions so there's quite a few proven ideas there.
I swaped to wool bedding in Jan and it's made a huge difference to me. The wool has natural thermal propertes and breathes - so it works in hot and cold weather. I have been fine over the past few nights - and I was able to take off the fleece that I needed when we stoped keeping the heating on over night a few weeks ago. It's made a huge difference to me - it keeps me warm and also makes it easier to cope with "night sweats" because it "breathes".
I also wear thermal long johns and a matching long sleeve vest instead of PJ's and I find these warmer and more confortable because again they are designed to breathe. (I use Damart, heat level 4, a ribbed design in preety colours - currently bright pink).
Good luck, N
