Since they changed the formulation of HUMIRA I have had a lot of trouble.
I have been on HUMIRA for 5 years and it has worked great keeping my Rheumatoid arthritis fully controlled with no side affects. When I had my first injection of the new prescription I had a flare up the following day ( could not walk ) since then I have had problems with my hands feet and elbows .Icontacted my supplier to check if any one else was having these problems and wether I could revert back to the old prescription I was told no on both counts.Ijust wondered if anyone else is having similar issues.
Many Thanks My Dog

I did not know they changed the formulation for humira I to have been taking it for 8 years and recently had terrible flare ups in knees hands elbows and back maybe that's part of my problems I was just at the rhemetologist and he did not mention it I had cortisone injected in my knees they feel better as for the rest no change
Hi Cathy the formulation for humira was changed last year.We now get 0.4ml per pen where we used to get 0.8ml per pen.The manufactures say that the same amount of humira is in each dose but they have reduced the volume of liquid to half. They say that this has been done to reduce stinging at the injection site and they have removed citrates from from the total liquid volume.
I have telephoned ABBIE VIE (the supplier) to request the original formulation but they say it is no longer in production.I don't really see what we can do next. AS you mentioned having cortisone injections to your knees I have also had this but the benifits only seem to last a couple of months then we are back to square one.Sorry to hear of your flare ups and hope they settle down soon
(I know what its like) That's about as much as I know perhaps some one will come up with the answer to our problem
