I have always had irregular periods - from 3 - 6 months cycle. they are usually heavy and painful but lately my last 8 periods have been very light, i have only needed to use a panty liner and don't get any period pains. I just wondered if raynaud's could be causing this? does anyone else have these problems with their periods?

Question for women who are suffering with Raynaud's.
PS I HAVE BEEN TO THE DOCTORS AND HAVE HAD A ULTRASOUND SCAN WHICH CAME BACK NORMAL, ALSO JUST RECENTLY HAD A BLOOD TEST TO CHECK MY HORMONE LEVELS BUT WAITING TO HEAR BACK FROM THEM.
I've got the opposite, my periods are so heavy I'm pouring blood and sometimes having periods for 3 weeks solid but go through a tampon and towel every hour - absolutely pouring My hormone levels came back ok so the last six months going from a regular normal period to this. In the past I could have predicted the exact date I would have a period in one, two, three, four months and could plan my life around them.
3 weeks solid.. feel very sorry for you!! never had that problem, though they have been really heavy before but not as bad as yours. I'm just worried cos it's a change in my cycle and i read on the internet that i should check it with the doctors. I just wanted to know if anyone else gets irregular periods with Raynaud's so I guess I'm not alone on when to predict periods... my cycle changes all the time too, but usually 3 to 6 months...
cardifflady how old are you?
Hi, I'm 48, they checked to see if I am going through the menopause and apparently I'm not
I have had raynauds for the last 10/12 years. Although probably longer just never got it diagnosed until it was a real problem and developed carpal tunnel as well. I always had very heavy and painful periods and when i reached 40ish they became much worse (couple of years after raynauds diagnosis) It got so bad i had to keep a menstruation diary and at its worst i was having 2/3 days of not bleeding in a month until i just didnt stop bleeding despite tablets that should stop all bleeading. Eventually at 46 i had a total hysterectomy. Big decision but totally worth it in my opinion.
Hi Tiddylyf. Over 5 years now been to hospital to have my smears done every six months as they always come back abnormal, also had a colposcopy and biopsy. Been asking for a hysterectomy for the last 3 years as fed up with abnormal smears. I'm 48. As you say I also took the medication prescribed to stop periods and they didn't work either
im 24 and my doc thinks im going through early menopause.. i
hope not as i want kids!
THIS MIGHT BE HELPFUL TO ANY1 ELSE WITH THESE PROBLEMS.. . raynauds.org.uk/doc-spot/do...
Thanks sunshine - I'm already a paid up member of the RSA and attended a recent Seminar in Cardiff (8th October). Dr Tom Lawson of Spire Hospital gave quite a good lecture.
