Hi does anyone else who has Raynaud's get bruises for no apparent reason. I tend to get them frequently on my legs but I know I haven't knocked myself. They take ages to clear up as well.
bruises: Hi does anyone else who has... - Scleroderma & Ray...
bruises
I get dreadful bruising especially on the tops of my legs or even my stomach but this mainly happens when my skin is extremely itchy. The bruises can be the size of my hand and do last for a good 2-3 weeks. I have SSc as well as Raynauds and have had blood tests for clotting issues but all seems fine. When my skin begins to itch I just cannot stop giving it a scratch and have to put cream on immediately. If I scratch it comes up in big raised white patches which are surrounded by bright red skin - very weird, then bruises about 12-24 hours later.
Get bruises too. I put it downto the clopidogrel i take to thin my blood. I also take hydroxicarbanide chemotherapy as ihave essential tnrombocythemia as well as scleroderma and raynauds
I've had bruises appear especially on my legs exactly like you , and yes they are there for ages! I have systemic scleroderma as well as Raynauds , consultants say it may be caused by the steroids I have to take ( prednisolone) . But unless you take the same ,it makes me wonder now if it's due to the Raynauds instead!?
I've been asking on this website about loads of symptoms I have and at the moment there all pointing at Scleroderma. Though I won't know for sure until I have tests done
I never got the bruises when i only had raynauds. It was not until i was diagnosed with the other things and started taking all the medications that the bruises started to appear.
I get unexplained bruising on my legs about the size of a 5p piece
