Has anyone else seem or tried this? I'm a bit wary since my understanding is the Systemic Sclerosis is an over-production of collagen and it seems odd to be introducing more into the system.

I have systemic sclerosis and osteoarthritis. I take a mussel extract of Glucosamine and Chondroitin which keeps the pain of the Osteo under control. I really don't think I would be in a hurry to take more collagen but then I don't really know the physiological ins and outs of that.
This is interesting because I've had a dramatic increase in my facial hives recently and was using a Collagen anti-wrinkle cream on my face for a few weeks when the uticaria on my forehead went mad. I have put this cream away now and stick to hydrocortisone and diprobase for dry lips and itchy hives but your question feels rather pertinent to my recent experience. Although I'm guessing topical collagen cream is different than the stuff that you are speaking about which is taken systemically?
This also happened to me so I stopped that brand of anti wrinkle cream as I'd read in the press that many manufacturers had been adding something (I cannot remember the name) and many folk had bad reactions to even very expensive face creams.
This sounds to me a dangerous path to be going down. The wording of the ad sets alarm bells with me, it doesn't sound trustworthy.
My advice is stick with the professionals and their advice because this sounds to me like a scam. Take care.
I agree with Titanicus. It isn't worth the risk. I'm on immunosupressant drugs and am told to avoid all sorts of very normal and usually healthy things such as echinacea, I don't think the cream caused the hives because I've been getting them for two years and think they are autoimmune but I'm sure it made them worse.
