Night sweats: Is anyone else getting... - Scleroderma & Ray...
Night sweats
Yes, come summer or winter I get night sweats. For most of the year I have to sleep with the aircon on. I still sweat, but not quite as bad.
Hello fairygoddess83
Yes I have been having night sweats a long time now but only on the lower part of my body I.e. legs ....... It wakes me up and it's like I've just stood in a pool of water - the bed is often soaked so save waking my hubby up I get a towel to lay on the bed and over me as the quilt cover is wet also. This happens in all seasons ......
I have asked my consultant about this and he has said that it is common with
Scleroderma !!!!
Sorry that you get the night sweats fairygoddess83, but thanks for asking this question as I have had night sweats off and on and not so bad to soaking wet for a long time too. So thanks too Anteater for asking your consultant and passing on the answer you got. I've never thought to ask, though I know mine are not the menopause, nor do I think they're my meds as those have varied over the years but the sweats come and go: the only thing I have identified is that I have definitely been feeling more ill before the worst ones start and whilst they continue. I find that resting / sleeping more and keeping hydrated help ... but that's probably not of any help if you get really bad ones all the time. Roll on the cooler weather!
Best wishes
BarbJ
i thought mine was the menopause perhaps not then, only been getting them since last sept but really bad of late, are you taking anything which helps, i tried evening primrose but didnt do anything
Hi all i get really bad sweats ,all day and night .Really embarrasing as i go bright red all over i carry fan around in handbag when im out .got elactric fans in every room .as soon as i feel it comeing on ,switch on the fan couldnt live with out them .Also find cardiganes usefull as i can take off a layer quick if im out .I find it a nightmare to deal with daily
I get dreadful sweats too although I have been through an early menopause but they continue so was interested to read about it being common in Scleroderma. My GP thinks its more to do with the medications I have to take. It all seems a bit daft because I get dreadful Raynauds but also suffer with Erythromelalgia so I really can't win! I tend to get up at night & dry myself down then put a large towel on the bed.
Hi, right...this is going to sound really flaky, but please bare with me, I am very pragmatic and down to earth. My husband had this problem with his Scleroderma too, changing bedding in the night was not my idea of fun, nor his, but had to be done. A friend who trained as a hypnotherapist did a session with him, getting him to imagine that he was in an boats engine room (he is ex navy) and re-setting all of the guages to normal. My husband was quite sceptical but willing to give it a go as it was a friend. I don't really understand how this all works, but from that day on, about 6 years ago...the problem has never happened again. I just wish that all his other problems were so easy to fix. I know this sounds weird, but I can only say it worked for him. Cheers . -
How are you doing. I just got the same symptoms and ended up having Lung Tuberculosis, latent. No chest pain, no cough, no fever, just fatigue. I thought it was menopause, but it ended up being laten lung TB. Did you ever found out what happened?
Hi I have night sweats I thought it was because of having everything took away mine is neck and chest most of the time sometimes my hole body
