I also have raynauds and had iloprost infusion in March but still having lots of difficulties with the cold.however my question is I am experiencing a strange sensation at night which my GP has labelled a panic attack. I feel tired and go to sleep I then and wake up in the middle of the night with a strange feeling in my chest which graduates to heart palpitation, I could hear the blood rushing through my ears I feel as if I am having a heart attract. I feel that I am not getting enough oxygen which results in me waking up in this state has any else had this experience.
I was diagnosed with scleroderma abou... - Scleroderma & Ray...
I was diagnosed with scleroderma about a year ago not sure which on I have.
Yes, I was diagnosed with scleroderma about 12 years ago, even though I was scared I didn't feel panic at first. A year or so later I woke up in the middle of the night in a huge panic attack. This continued for the next 2 days. I called my doctor which was out of town and her stand-by perscribed me 3 xanax pills until she came back. My doctor did blood work and I was severly anemic which can bring on panic attacks. She also put me on zoloft which I still take everyday,if you go the anti-depressant route don't take the kind that raises your blood pressure which with me is very low and that can cause more problems. The noise in your ears could be tinitus which is caused by the constricted blood vessles in your head, I have it also. Also have them check your O2 to make sure you are getting enough oxygen. If you are anemic make sure you take iron everyday, they may give you iron injections at first. I wish you good luck.
Thanks so much for your answer this has given me some idea's of how to approach my GP, he prescribe diazepam which i did not want to take, its quite scary. Sometime it is so hard to put your view or ask question of your GP thank you again.
The only way to be sure which one you have is to have blood tests. One thing to look for is if you scleroderma show up on your chest. Diffuse systemic is the only one that shows up on the chest. I have limited systemic with pulmonary hypertension as well. I was diagnosed on August 12, 2010 and was declared totally disabled in less than a year later. What I would like to know is what is ilopropst infusion? I have never heard of this. Anyway, hope this helps.
Iloprost is used when you have ulcers, raynauds and scleroderma, it acts as a natural chemical found in your body called prostacyclin. It relaxes blood vessels which helps to stop them becoming narrow or blocked, and helps to dissolve clots. In my case it was administered is intravenously and I was hospitalised for 5 days as you need to be monitored closely. Hope this information is useful
