Lumbar puncture

I was officially diagnosed with narcolepsy with cataplexy around 3 months ago. I was put on modifinal which didn't help much and now got something else so will see how that goes.

I have been told thou that I need to have a lumbar puncture to check my hypocretin levels. I'm worried if they aren't low then I'll be back to square one and sleeping all the time.

Has anyone had this? Or know anything about hypocretin?

Or anyones experience with a lumbar puncture or tablets.

Thanks in advance!
