Fitbit…..good or bad for reliable sleep feedback?

Good morning

I’m new here and hoping to get some feedback and advice. I’ve tried looking for previous posts but can’t find what I’m looking for. It may well be there but my fuzzy brain can’t find it.

I have no problem falling asleep in bed, I read for a little while then I’m off. My sleep hygiene is very good. But like many of you it seems, I have trouble sleeping for long enough, always waking up around 3.30am very unrefreshed. I don’t take any sleeping tablets. I tried CPAP but it kept me awake.

Last month I bought a Fitbit which tells me I average 40 minutes of deep sleep each night which I gather is just not enough. My question is, how reliable is this reading and can I use it to influence my decisions on what to do next?

Next question: what should I do next?
