Anyone have any tips and Best life practices to help lesson my apnea .
I have recently gained 50 lbs (which I know it’s the mane problem) due to stress and it seems as though right when I gained all this weight anxiety and depression had intensified.
I know losing weight is one of them, but does anyone have any suggestions ?

How are you with CPAP compliance?
Also, do you use a bed wedge or sleep on high pillows? Sleeping with your upper body at an angle helps keep the airways open.
Hey! I haven’t gotten mine yet !! I have To do a second sleep study to determine what level my CPAP machine needs to be at. I’ve been sleeping on my recliner for now and I’m still dog tired
When is your second one? It takes time once you get your machine to notice a difference, but you will. Lifestyle changes like eating healthy, exercising regularly, quitting smoking if you smoke, and decreasing your alcohol intake if you drink are good.
My second one is December 10th I do have to change my lifestyle but I’m sooooooo sleepy!!! my job offers accommodations to a sit stand desk so I’ll get more standing time to keep me alert
Hear you there!! I'm tired all the time, so I empathize with your plight! Every little thing becomes a chore when you're tired, doesn't it? And having depression doesn't help matters! I have severe depression and some anxiety as well. If there is one thing I have learned, it is that body and mind are connected!

Yes, I understand all too well. Unfortunately, I have a very complex set of issues as well and the accumulation of them has left me drained.
Both my husband and I are from Houston.
We love it here in Norway; it's a beautiful country!
The pros: slower pace of life, great healthcare, a mass transit system that actually works, the compactness of the towns (we don't own a car because we don't need one!)
Cons: high taxes, excuriatingly long waiting lines due to a national healthcare system (I've heard that the States is leaning towards that as well -- having to wait 2 months for your next study sounds eerily familar), needing to learn a new language to get by (even though most people speak English here, some refuse to use it), and the sometimes negative conatation that the word "foreigner" brings with it (although most Norwegians are accepting of foreigners, both my husband and I have been in situations where we've been looked down upon for not being Norwegian)
How are you doing? Really sorry you have to wait until Dec. 10 to get a CPAP! That is awful, especially since untreated sleep apnea is serious. I'm glad you're sleeping with you're upper body elevated while you're waiting. I know it's probably not comfortable (right?), but it's important to keep that airway open. You'll be able to resume lying down once you get your CPAP. I admit I'm not using my CPAP, but that's because I'm dealing with other physical issues that may have taken over the apnea diagnosis (long story there). It will take some getting used to the mask, the hose, and all, but please don't let it deter you from using the machine. It will work well.
Please take a look at this website, especially the self-help treatment section: helpguide.org/articles/slee.... It gives exercises to help strength the throat muscles. Please don't use this as a replacement for CPAP therapy, though!
