Sore tongue
Hi Myflowers , I get a sore mouth and tongue at times . It could be you have a ulcer on your tongue , mouth ulcer treatment might help or gargling with warm salty water. If it persists your dentist is a good source of advice. I hope it heals soon .
I found that salty water made my sjorgrens worse unfortunately as it burns the mucosa. Something that doesn't irritate would be better.
I have been using sterimar saline spray for years and it has worked for me . I had constant sinus issues before I started using it and now I can keep things mainly under control. Unfortunately it doesn’t appear to be helping with the smoke smell 🤷♀️
I'm not diagnosed with Sjogrens, but do suspect I may have it. I had a lichenoid reaction to a dental filling once too.
My tongue can be incredibly painful at times due to geographic tongue - is it possible you might have that too? I can't cope with any mouthwashes, as it stings too much. When I saw a consultant at the dental hospital they prescribed me a nasal spray (of all things), to spray on sore areas when it was flaring up and said to be careful of acidic/salty foods. I can't remember what the nasal spray was, but I don't think it was anything you can buy over the counter. I'll post again if the name comes back to me.
