Painful tongue
Hi, yes i get this from time to time. Dont exactly know why, but i think mine is associated with certain foods. definitely, baguette, pizza and crisps can trigger a sore tongue. it can last for days before subsiding. under the tongue can look blue, sometimes there a small lump ( that also disappears) i did go to the GP a few years ago who smirked and said that looks normal, so i've never bothered since. the side of my mouth can also peel 🤷♀️
ive found sticking your tongue out can give a bit of relief, not very dignified 😂 mouthwash, either genigel or biotene seems to help also a glass of water while eating.
sorry i dont have a proper explanation of the cause, just that you are not alone. I think ive read before of others that have had the same problem so hopefully you'll get some more replys. 😉
I get burning tongue. Do you have a dentist who could give you some guidance?
Hi I often get a very sore tongue mainly on the right side ,and the roof of my mouth is sore as well it is really horrible .I have spoken to my dentist but it is a waste of time ,they know nothing much about sjorgens .I have found it is sometimes related to oral thrush which is a fungal infection in the mouth and is more common in our condition .I get the doctor to prescribe Nystan Oral Suspension .If your tongue is coated white and feels sticky especially on waking this is often thrush .You are not alone it is another symtom people seem to get .Hope you are able to get it sorted out .
Have you had a dentist look at this? It may be a sharp spot on your tooth.
