How long after oc diagnosis did y’all have surgery? Hospital that does surgery is not in my network. Waiting on approval

After the mri showed tumours on my ovaries I saw an oncologist who referred me to a surgeon. Surgery was scheduled to take place 3 weeks later but they had a cancelation and it was done within 10 days. The actual diagnosis took place on the surgery table where tests took place determining what the diagnosis was and exactly what should be removed. Chemo started a month after the surgery.

Thanks for your response. Mine was diagnosed in June. Hospital that does surgery is out of network. Waiting on insurance to make an exception in my case.

I’m so sorry that you have this uncertainty around if/when your surgery will take place. Do you live in England? I thought they had universal health care!

I live in Arkansas I the the USA. Hate dealing with insurance. It is so screwed up!

I was diagnosed in Aug 2019 With ovarian 3b had 3 rounds chemo then surgery followed in Oct. and 3 more rounds. keep pressing insurance company. They don’t respond as though time is important. I got to know a BC/BS person by name and that helped tremendously. Also, my oncologist and the surgeon designated it as a top priority surgery. Sooner the better to get that cancer beast removed and really start the healing. Press on! Praying for you.

My insurance finally agreed to surgery. I go Friday the 14th to see oncology surgeon. Hopefully surgery soon! Thank you for the prayers! Prayers for you, too!!!
