I was diagnosed with ovarian in June of 2013 stage 3b. Had surgery and chemo and now on my 2nd small recurrence. Would like to chat with others and see how people are doing and what their treatment is and how they are coping.

Hi Nancy, what treatment are you currently on? When I recurred, I was treated with carboplatin and gemzar.

Hi, I recurred last month 5 .5 months from finishing first line, currently waiting to see if I'm eligible for a specific clear cell clinical trial, if not I'll be on weekly Taxol as I'm platinum resistant,

I also post on My OvaCome which has a very active forum, so it nayuve Wirth a post there too. Mainly UK but ladies from US etc too

Take care

I started a trial in September but the side effects (fatigue, nausea and liver damage) were such that I had to go off it. Now on carbo and gem but it appears this will be for a long time since I'm not having surgery so they just give chemo to keep it small. A bummer. Although they want to give me a 3 month break in the spring. Just coping the best I can.

I was reading about the side effects of the tablet and they are quite grim reading for all the effects you suffered.

Which trial were you on?

It was a 3 pronged trial with either 1 oral drug, 2 oral drugs or standard IV chemo. I had the two oral drugs and they were a killer. Happy to be on IV much less toxic although my CA 125 on the oral went to normal very quickly and the other great thing was that it must have sped up my metabolism because I could eat up a storm and I lost weight. Always struggled with my weight so that was a definite bonus.

Hi Nancy- I also was diagnosed with stage 3b OC almost one year ago. I had TAH, appendix and omentum also removed. Some lymph nodes also removed and tested negative. I had chemo part of last spring and fall and all summer. Had a CT scan in November of 2016 and was declared NED. So far so good. My CA 125 has been in the 7's. I go to ONC every 3 months right now.

wishing you NED again. Please keep us posted on your progress. We are all in this together.

Xx Carol

Hi Nancy, I have stage 3c clear cell ovarian cancer. I was diagnosed in April 2014. I did troxil with cysplatin the. Switched to carboplatin. I had stomach wash chemo and IV chemo. I'm cancer free to date. I get results from recent catscan tomorrow praying I'm still good. I feel so lucky to have found this site, I feel like we are all family. As family we will survive this.
