I had previously posted about my mom with a rising ca125 she has repeat blood work on Friday. Her ca125 went from 4 to 6 to 7, 8 and now its 10. I wanted to know if anyone is doing any complimentary medicine. Right now my mom is on a clinical trial with a parp inhibitor and immunotherapy. I was thinking about Red ginseng and soursop, does anyone have any other idea? I also read that taking ibuprofen helps? Any idea?

Before your mother takes anything please check with the oncologist who may refer you to the oncology pharmacy. They will be able to advise you about what may be taken safely with her current meds.!i did this and was surprised to discover that some naturopathic items such as hair, skin and nails vitamins were contraindicated. At our clinic they offered mindfulness sessions which a lot of people found helpful, as well as techniques to help you overcome the tendency to be irritable and to over react. Good luck! Once again you’re an amazing daughter!
I go to an integrative oncologist so I take different supplements along with my parp inhibitor. They made decisions on supplements that I should take based on extensive nutritional lab testing. Also, they encourage exercise, meditation, sleep, lower stress and of course eating nutritional foods - mainly vegetarian. My doctor has written a book on this approach but there are quite a few other books that have been written. Of course there are web sites too. Best wishes to your mom.
