Carboplatin

I am fortunate enough to be 2 years out from stage 3 ovarian cancer. I did receive very aggressive weekly treatment with Carboplatin and taxol and I wanted to stop treatment right from the beginning due to difficult to manage side effects ie needing blood and plasma transfusions, neuropathy, loss of appetite and severe nausea

However, I am so glad that I continued with the tremendous support of oncologist and my nurse practioner and support from facility psychiatrist and psychologist. I am in complete remission, feel really well and working part time. I feel very fortunate and chemo is just a nightmare I once had. I do hope it continues to be this way. I have my life back. Just staying in the moment the best I can and enjoying my family as much as I can with the pandemic restrictions.

Thank you for sharing your joy with us. There are good stories among us! I am a year out from frontline for Stage 3 as well. So far, so good. Staying in the moment, trying my best to live my life as if each day is a gift. Did you by any chance also have the stomach port for Intraperetoneal infusions?

Mele 2222,

I wish you full remission and continue your life with coming back to work and enjoy your family love and care.

The chemo is really hard and destroying for part of body functions.

Some will improve in time and some not.

don't give up on any gymnastics you can do. it is so important to become more healthy.

best wishes.....
