Covid vaccine side effects and low WBC

Has anyone had the Covid vaccine and had a negative side effect? I have chronically low WBC and am very nervous about getting the vaccine. I've heard that it can drop the WBC further and cause you to stop treatment. YIKES!!

Any advice would be most appreciated!!! Thank you, dear sisters.

I had the Oxford vaccine. The following day I had routine blood tests and my white cells were through the roof. They were so high that the hospital thought I had an infection , sent me for an xray and gave me doxycycline to take home. However I didn’t have an infection. I did have other side effects though- slight headache and quite severe chills, a rash a few days later and a ew minor bouts of chills. Non of it lasted very long.

I’ve had both doses of the Pfizer vaccine, with no side effects except a mildly sore arm. Full disclosure: I’m no longer on any cancer treatment and my labs are all normal.

Getting my first one tomorrow. I’ll update after good or bad. I’m on Doxil and avastin, just had avastin yesterday.

So far so good, got my first Pfizer shot and just a sore arm. My next shot will be a few days after Doxil/Avastin I’ll check back in with any side effects.

Thank you! Do you have low WBC since you're on chemo?

Yes, but they haven’t been too low not to get next treatment yet.

I had side effects from astrazenica jab. First night fever high temperature, hallucinations, woke up next morning and temperature was gone but had a migraine headache that lasted all day and went to bed with it.3rd morning I woke up fine but at 6pm I started with hives rash which covered both my arms and part of my back. The little spots spread into dinner plate size, very raised , red and it felt like I was on fire. The itchyness was something different. As a person with allergies it was far worse than any other allergic reaction I've had. That lasted for another 5 days. I took antihistamines but it didn't give any relief. It would ease a bit during the day but at 6pm every evening it would get very bad. I didn't sleep during that five days. If I had a shower my skin would be dry almost immediately. I wore thin sleeveless tops and cotton loose trousers. I even sat out in the garden on some very cold days. I haven't felt my best since I had it 8 weeks ago.

As I didn't feel too good I had a CA125 test and it had gone up to 35 from 16.

I am on 3 monthly check ups after 6 months of chemo last year & a debulking surgery in June last year.

Wow! You've been through a lot. I'm so sorry. I just got the Pfizer vaccine last night and just had an achy arm and feeling tired all day. Thank you for sharing.
