Rubraca and sore knee

I've been on rubaca a parp inhibitor for nine months with all ca 125's 10 or under. I need a knee replacement as I am bone on bone. Has anyone had surgery while taking this drug?

Hi Smithgirl44, I needed hernia surgery and my oncologist would not start me on the Rubraca until I had the surgery. Have you asked your oncologist? I will be praying for you, and praying the Rubraca keeps cancer away. There’s a lady at oncologist office I go to that’s going on two years on Rebraca. Very positive about the maintenance program. Take care hope all works out well for your knee.

Hi there,

I have never heard of Rubraca. How are the side effects? Right now my wife is on Avastan only, after chemo. She just started so we don’t know how it will go.

I’m sure Rubraca could affect people differently but for me the small issues I deal with are nothing compared to the other outcome. I forgot, the one thing I do have problem with is I can’t drink coffee like I use to. It make my stomach yucky when drinking coffee. And I use to love drinking coffee.

Rubraca, to my understanding is for someone that is positive for the brac1 or brac2 mutated cancer gene.

If any other ladies have more info or if I’m wrong please let me know.
