Hello smithgirl44, just wanted to check in with you. So we’ve reached the one year mark on RuBraca how are you doing?

God Bless and take care

I have maintained a ca 125 of 8 since July 2018. I take 800 mgs a day which makes me tired. How much Rubaca do you take?

So glad to hear your CA125 is staying low that is WONDERFUL news. I take 1200mg daily, started taking Rubraca Sept 25 2018 and CA125 is staying at 4.0 to 4.5. I just loved hearing your good news and praying for you to stay healthy.

God Bless you and take care.

Please let’s keep in touch.

How do you like it? I am being considered for a PARP inhibitor?

Hi ns5951,

I have no bothersome issues at all with the Rubraca. I get little tired some but soon as I rest I’m good to go. I’m sorry what is a PARP inhibitor? I guess I’m having little chemo brain, 🤪

Thanks for the reply, Tabor! Apparently Rubraca is a PARP inhibitor. It stands for poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) inhibitors - I just looked that up :-) There are two others for ovarian cancer: Oleparib and Niraparib. Anyway, I had read that the others can have concerning side effects so I am glad to hear that this one is easier to tolerate. I plan to ask my doctor about it. For now I am still on maintenance chemo but considering options. Thanks again for getting back to me and continued good luck to you!

Hi ns5951

How long will you be on the maintenance chemo?

I tested positive for the brac2 mutated gene, that ugly cancer runs in my family. One blessing was my daughter tested negative for the brac1 and brac2.

Take care!
