Hi Nancy,
I’m sorry about your diagnosis.
I’ve been on Ibrance since 9/19 and have few side effects: fatigue and low white blood cells. I’m also on Femara (Letrozole). My Mets are in bones and happily CT scans have shown no further spreading since 2019. I feel so grateful. I’m afraid I don’t know anything about Kidquali but have read others here have had success with it.
Wishing you all the best with your current plan.
Im also on palbo and have had a good run on it so far - > 3 yrs with only low white blood cells platelets. Not that kisqali isn’t good (I’ve only been on palbo so wouldn’t know) but One cycle of palbo doesn’t seem long so am assuming you had some pretty bad side effects or need to change for another reason. It is possible to modify the dose if that is the case and still get good results. I was initially offered the choice of abemaciclib which has more of a digestive impact but not ribociclib because of its potential cardiac impacts.
I have read and listened to webinars where Kisquali was found to be more effective than Ibrance. I asked my oncologist why wasn't I started on Kisquali rather than Ibrance given the research. She said that I would start Kisquali when Ibrance no longer works. I am sorry to hear about your diagnosis but this may be effective treatment for you. I had a malignant pleural effusion, over a liter of fluid in my lung. I had to have a drain inserted for months but Ibrance either eliminated the cancer in my lung or reduced the cancer cell load and reduced the cancer or eliminated it in my bones. I am fine for now. I hope you have good results with the new treatment.. sending you a hug.
Im not sure I understand ?? If you are taking Ibrance and not having side effects why does your doctor want to switch you to Kasquali??
My dr says she would not have prescribed Ibrance as it is less effective. However, since I'm stable there is no reason to change. Best to leave things as they until progression. At progression mosquito will be another option.
Hi, I’m sorry that you have MBC like all of us in this group.
I think it’s worthwhile to ask what is the reason for switching to Kisquily after only 3 weeks on Ibrance.
It doesn’t look that the reason is safety. It’s too early to determine whether Ibrance is effective for you.
Pls talk to your oncologist and be clear about your treatment.
All the best,
Hello Nancy,
Ibrance/Letrozole combo is working well for me. I have been on it since the spring of 2017. The only side effect has been fatigue. I have stage 4 breast cancer that has spread to my lungs. Blessings and best wishes, Hannah
I'm on Kisqali and Letrozole since January 2024 (my first line of treatment). I have mets to bones and lungs. My scan in June 2024 showed my lung mets and lump in right breast resolved. My bone mets are also healing. I started experiencing some side effects lately ( achilles tendons and hip pain). Also a very tender scalp. Will have scans again soon.
I have read that Kasquali is more effective than Ibrance. I would feel hopeful this can be stabilized and improved from what I have read. I hope this is a success for you!
