Today I found out that I have a second breast cancer. I was diagnosed with MBC in 2019 (ER/PR- Her2+)and recently had a mammogram that showed a tumor. The biopsy results show a second breast cancer(ER/PR+ Her2+). In the next two weeks I have a PET scan and Brain MRI. Is there anyone else out there with two breast cancers? The doctor said he has never seen it. I’m kinda in shock. Any information would be appreciated . Take care to all of you!

2 types of breast cancer
Wow! I've heard of second primaries but not after MBC diagnosis. God bless you.
I have a second primary small cell lung cancer and stage 4 metastatic breast cancer. It's unusual but it can happen to have two different cancers. I was diagnosed with MBC last year in August and then had a tumor not responding and it turned out to be SCLC this July. I have had lesions from MBC in my lungs, liver, and adrenal gland. Now dealing with just one tumor in the right lung that has not spread. I just finished chemo and radiation therapy simultaneously for it. I had to stop my Ibrance since July but I go back on it in November along with immunotherapy. But I stayed on my letrozole the whole time. Will your oncologist be giving you different drugs for each cancer? At least it's still breast cancer and there are a lot more drugs for that than treatment for SCLC. Hugs 🤗 Alicia
Oh my goodness! I had a second primary in the lung. I’ve never heard of a secondary Breast cancer but I guess cancer can come in so many forms that we shouldn’t be too surprised. PLEASE keep us informed! We’ll be with you in spirit as you’re going through this! 💕
I had two tumors in the same breast, one ductal and one lobular. The ductal spread to all my bones before I was even diagnosed and the lobular spread to my stomach several years later. This is a hideous disease. Good luck to you!
This is new to me, too. I can see Her2- mutate to Her2+, but not ER/PR- mutating to ER/PR+. Please keep us posted.
I don’t have two separate types of MBC, but there’s a person in my support group who does. She has been getting treatment for two separate cancers which each require different drugs.
