State 3 Breast Cancer

I discovered a lump in my breast early in April. Was sent for an ultrasound which was very suspicious. Biopsy revealed cancer. Oncololgist confirmed stage 3 metastic breast cancer. She put me on Anastrozole and when final tests came in started me on Ibrance 100. After two weeks my wbc was very low so after two weeks will be starting me on Ibrance 75. I am really new to all this and would like to know other people's experience.

Hello, I have stage 4 and took Ibrance 100 & 75 for 10 months. I felt like a zombie. Then I went to Kisqali for a year. I had pneumonitis and my pulmonolgist suggested that I go off of it. I have been on Orserdu for 2 months and I tolerate it well. Blessings to you.

Thank you for your comments. I guess we all need some luck to get by.

hi catfreddie , this page is specifically for patients with Stage 4 metastatic breast cancer, where everyone’s on a very long-term treatment path. You might want to switch into another HealthUnlocked group that’s for stage 1, 2 and 3 breast cancer patients who have a different prognosis than us.

Best of luck with your treatment!🙏🏼💜

that is exactly how my experience was. I am not sure why you were suspicious ? About an ultrasound? I had one, same day that they saw my results in my mammogram

Sorry you are joining us. No one wants to need a breast cancer group , Taking a multi vitamin in addition to Ibrance helped with low blood counts for me, but talk with your oncologist before you add anything. Ibrance has been a good drug for me. I also take Letrozole with it. Wishing you the best. Blessings, Hannah

Sorry for your cancer diagnosis. I would suggest you get clarification from your Onc. so you know what exactly you are dealing with. Hearing a diagnosis of breast cancer is overwhelming, so confusion is understandable.

Stage 3 breast cancer has grown extensively, invaded nearby tissue and may have spread to lymph nodes. However, it has not metastasized to distant organs. Stage 3 is not "metastatic" breast cancer and is treated with "curative intent"

Stage 4 breast cancer is metastatic breast cancer because the cancer has spread to distant sites like bone, liver for ex. Stage 4 is not curable but is treatable. Everyone on here has been living and thriving with stage 4 breast cancer

I hope this helps. This site is wonderful for those with stage 4 breast cancer as we are all going through this; realizing that we can live a full life, travel and do lots of things despite cancer

My mistake, not metastatic, I am stage 3 C. Has not spread to distant sites but has spread to lymph nodes. I am on Anasrozole and Ibrance.
