I was on Ibrance and Letrozole, then Verzenio and Faslodex and then Orserdu. Since Orserdu now failed, the next plan is Xeloda. I read here some reports about some bad side effects. My oncologist at Dana Farber gave me some choices and indicated that in my situation, Xeloda might be best. The thing is that my 31 yrs old daughter was just diagnosed with lymphoma and I will have to be there for her, take her to chemo and such. So, I cannot be too incapacitated and not be able to be there to help her.

Anybody with good results on Xeloda?
Hi I was on Xeloda for four months before my recent operation. I had a mastectomy as it was found all my body except for the breast was responding well to it. As far as side effects for me apart from the hand and foot syndrome which as long as I kept moisturising was not too bad, I had no other side side effects. I am currently waiting to go back on this medication following my recovery. I have heard that some people suffer from more severe side effects but hope you are as lucky as I am. My thoughts are with you
I’ve read that applying Voltaren cream can significantly help with HFS, but you need to start it right away. Otherwise Xeloda is pretty well tolerated. I hope it workes well for you. God bless!
Hi there, I've been on it since November, one week on and one week off, a dosing protocol I asked for after reading it's just as effective as 3 weeks on, one week off, with fewer side effects. My feet get a bit tender towards the end of my week, but lots of urea cream keeps them not too bad and then they recover. My January scans showed good response. I hope you get the same - good luck!
That is so tough to have your daughter sick with cancer too. Of course you want to be there for her! I am on xeloda and having a good response and I like it because my energy level is good. Where as the ibrance and verzenio made me wiped out. But my Feet are sore from HFS which is typical. If I were in your situation I might consider waiting to on xeloda when she is thru treatment… and consider going on a treatment that might not affect your mobility so much. Just the other side of the coin for you to consider. My doctor says that We prob all will get every drug available to us… and the order you get them could be influenced by what side effects are less appealing to you at the time. I hope that was helpful! Good luck with a tough decision.
Hey There!
I have been on Xeloda for a year now and have had very few side affects. I have tolerated it better than some previous non-chemo treatments (Ibrance, Letrozole and Faslodex). I do have some issues with red and angry feet at the end of some cycles but they quickly resolve and applying Urea cream on them regularly helps a lot. Some fatigue as well but again, tolerable. Wishing you and your daughter all the best.
