ctDNA - signatera

has anyone had the signatera bloodwork test? It is somewhat new science and compares a current blood draw to original tumor biopsy tissue. It then look for a match and works to to detect circulating tumor dna (ctDNA) in blood. It assigns a numbers as to how much ctDNA is found. My Mets are bone only so far and my cancer is lobular, so oncologist felt this was a good monitoring option as lobular is hard to detect. I still have quarterly scans, but this could possible change that. My first blood test this summer came back negative—suggesting there was no tumor dna circulating in my blood. My dr said this was fantastic news. It feels fantastic, but I am hesitant to rejoice.

I will be retested every 3 mos. Just curious if anyone else has had this done.

I have not had this test done, but I also have lobular disease and I’m going to talk to my onc about getting this test. Thanks for sharing your thoughts experience.

i've posted about my experience with Signatera. i did the first blood draw in Nov 2022 and have had three more. all four test results have been "0.00." the onc is thrilled for me. i am thrilled, too, and celebrate the news. all i have is this day. thus, i celebrate successes and work through the challenges.

What exactly does this mean? My dads ctDNA result came back as 0.00 also

per this test, there is no detectable cancer cells (tumor DNA) circulating in the blood stream.

How does this correlate in terms of treatment and progression?

Good question! I can't quite seem to get a definitive answer from my oncologist. She just keeps saying it's great news! I have scans in November, it will be interesting to see what those show. Or, hopefully, don't show.

that is a question for Signatera or the onc to answer. the onc can continue or adjust treatment based on the test results. results typically predict recurrence/progression @ nine months before a scan or TMs do.

i have lobular , about 2 months ago oncologist first time draw ct dna but the result not found any significant so insurance declined payment?? so much costing for me ,because 2 year s ago they found one 1.5cm spot on my sacrum then they did biopsy confirmed was relpase from 2016 lobular cancer, i started fasoldex and verzenio for two year now last scan they didnt see the sacrum lesion anymore . i little cinfused with this kind blood work maybe just new technology, depend on insurance will pay for it or not.
