I was diagnosed with MBC in December of 2019 de novo.
After 2 years of Verzenio, cancer started to affect the bone marrow. Dr. started Enhertu which cleared the bone marrow and I had no major issues (I had pnemonitis which was cleared) I was on Enhertu for 1 year. Now after PET scan last week I have progression with new spots on bone. (I have bone mets and brain mets)
Dr. Is starting me on Troelvy.
I feel a great deal of apprehension with starting this new drug.
Does anyone have any experience with this medication?
Any advise on side effects?
Thank you,
Dorothy

Hi DorothyR. A few of us have just started this drug. Some have had minimal side effects but others including myself are having a rougher time. This is a highly effective drug and one of the new anti-body drug conjugates oncologists call smart bombs. I am willing to push through if it is effective, the treatments for side effects help and if it gets easier with fine tuning. Please see my earlier post.
Hello! I recently started this med. some people people sail right through and others not so much. I have had 2 doses and it has been a bit rough. The Nausea has been for hard for me. It tends to last 3 days. My white blood counts tanked so they had to put me on Nulesta to bolster them. My onc says that there is real hope to having it become more manageable. I’m banking on that!!!! Remember everyone responds differently. ❤️
Just finished fourth cycle. It started out pretty rough but I'm told it because it works to well and quickly. Please read my posts. This round has been a lot easier or I am better at predicting and dealing with effects. Either way, it is making all of my lab results go the right direction and my oncology team is thrilled. I think these new drugs are truly miracles for all of us. I hope I continue my track record of getting a year out of each therapy (well most of them).
I just had my 2nd dose of my first cycle yesterday. I had the Benadryl hangover after coming home and slept for a few hours. But woke up and now can’t get back to sleep due to the steroids. Watching junk tv now. lol
The side effects have been manageable and I don’t feel anything like I did on other chemo regimens. Carbo almost killed me and I had to receive blood and platelet transfusions. I missed multiple treatments with that line. I’m hoping this drug works cuz it’s been working for multiple years for many of my friends with tnbc.
